MCD offers a full range of diagnostic tests

PET Fusion
Positron Emission Tomography, a highly specialized imaging technique using short-lived radioactive substances. This technique produces three-dimensional colored images. PET scanning provides information about the body's chemistry not available through other procedures.

Bone Densitometry
Bone scans evaluate abnormalities of joints and bones and measure the amount of bone in a particular site, The two areas commonly scanned are the lower spine and the hip. Other areas include the neck, forearm or heel. Primarily, the two methods used to measure bone density are x-rays and ultrasound.

CT scans
Computed Tomography (CT) imaging, also known as "CAT scanning" (Computed Axial Tomography), was developed in the 1970's. CT is fast, patient friendly and has the unique ability to image a combination of soft tissue, bone, and blood vessels.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound is widely used in diagnostic imaging. It shows soft tissues, and movement of organs within the body. Ultrasound is used as a primary diagnostic imaging tool as it does not use ionizing radiation, so can be used safely on all patients. Many conditions can be diagnosed using ultrasound such as: gallstones, kidney stones, cysts, cancers. Most pregnant women will have at least one ultrasound scan during their pregnancy.

X-Ray
X-ray technology, discovered in 1895, lets doctors see straight through human tissue to examine broken bones, cavities and swallowed objects with extraordinary ease. Modified X-ray procedures can be used to examine softer tissue, such as the lungs, blood vessels or the intestines.

Digital Mammography
A mammogram is an x-ray test that produces an image of the inner breast tissue on film. This technique, called mammography, is used to visualize normal and abnormal structures within the breasts.

Open MRI
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is an exciting advancement in the area of medical diagnosis. Through the use of a magnet and radio waves similar to AM/FM radio, MRI makes it possible for doctors to see detailed images of the internal structures of the body. Our "Open" MRI systems make it possible for you to come to a facility where you can be examined without the fear of being placed in a narrow tube for an extended period of time.
